Ecap convertor

Hello,

Sorry if my question is stupid, but I wonder if we can easily "convert" a proxy service to Ecap. I'm thinking about something with Dangsuardian (unmaintained) or E2guardian these softs are working in proxy mode and I guess this is an obsolete mode now.

Or perhaps with something intermediate like: Squid -> Ecap service -> DansGuardian ?

E-CAP/ICAP seems very powerful but I can't find a free content filter with it
