No, you cannot easily convert an HTTP proxy service to an eCAP service.
Serious development work is required to teach an HTTP proxy to speak eCAP.

Yes, that is possible. You will need to write that eCAP service and you
will lose most of the eCAP advantages, but it is technically possible.
Teaching DansGuardian or E2guardian to talk eCAP instead may be a better
alternative, especially if you care about performance.

There are non-free eCAP and ICAP content filters though. If you want to
filter just viruses and malware, then ClamAV is popular, free, and has
free eCAP and ICAP(?) services that you can test.


Please do not misinterpret my response as a recommendation to use any of
the services mentioned.
